Mah skechbewk intray four thes weak

aki-air

So cute, so fun, so tiny. Too tiny I thought, but the more of them I watched, the more I realized that small size + simplicity of animation is what really makes them work. the animation is mostly frame by frame, and seems to of been made by traditional means rather than with flash. The animation isn't perfect, but it looks like the artist did it that way intentionally. I like the simple form of humor.

shiver

I really enjoy this kind of music, so ambient that it's more just sound than actual music. The art is heavily photoshoped photography, and the animation is motion and shape tweens. The way they created that flame is really really good. I'll probably study it for a while so I can learn their technique

it will never be the same

When I first opened this up I had no idea what to do, but once I figured it out I had fuuuuuuuun. It's such a stupid and pointless gadget but it's fun to just run down the road swerving around while giggling like an idiot. The animtion is simple shape tweening, but I don't have any idea how they did that interactiveness. My knowledge of actionscript is very, very basic.

Also, chickens.

What is time?

Time is the continuous change of the future into the present. We split up time using measurements like hours, days, and years. Whenever I think about time, I think about traveling through it. Traveling backwards through time, I think, would be impossible. Going back in time would result in negative time, and in order to get into negative time, you would have to go past zero time. Since nothing would move or happen if there was no time to progress it, time would stay stopped. Time could possibly be sped up, but we wouldn't be able to comprehend this increased speed, because our methods of measuring it would would be moving with that time.

I don't really have any backing for this theory though.

This is an introduction

Harro! I'm Adam Shipp, and I do flash animations and stuff. Right now I'm an AFO student at VCU art school. Hopefully I'll be in the Kinetic Imaging department next year. I'll be posting pictures and animation stuff that I do, plus music and youtube videos that I like, so there's something to look forward to.
